Overview

Project Summary

This Aboriginal Alberta Music/Dance Tour is an opportunity for Aboriginal communities to come together to celebrate and grow local talent.  ACE believes that fostering arts, culture, and heritage will make all communities better places to live, work and play. But this is just not another program! It will be a hands-on opportunity, supported by long-term strategies meant to inspire community members to be active, creative, and engaged. The goal of this initiative is to seed an interest in the arts and then feed this interest through training opportunities, access to resources, and sustainability strategies.

Deliverables

  • 7 4-day tours in Aboriginal communities facilitated by 2 professional dancers (one contemporary, one traditional) + 2 professional musicians (one contemporary, one traditional)
  • over 50 possible workshops in each tour plus an Open Talent night
  • access to ACE arts resources
  • possible match funds from corporate donors at an estimated $25,000
