Overview

Project Summary:
TSNAP is a group of concerned parents from the community that want to help facilitate the development of the playground to enhance our children's school life experience by providing an appropriate outdoor play structure in which to divert energy and promote a healthy lifestyle.  The playground is also considered a vital component for the community as population grows and with it, the demand for developed outdoor space increases.  This is too important a project to go unfunded

The Terwillegar Schools Need A Playground (TSNAP) was created over a year ago. I joined this group in March 2010 and started fundraising efforts in June 2010.  To date, the TSNAP committee has raised just over $80,000 towards our ultimate goal of $125,000.

Deliverables:
- playground equipment suitable to service 1100 students during school hours and the community as a whole
- over $80,000 raised in the last eight months towards our goal of $125,000
- awareness campaign

Community Benefit

The playground is considered a vital component for the community as population grows and with it, the demand for developed outdoor space increases. Currently, there is only one very small playground in the community that can not meet the demand of the residents. Residents now find themselves having to drive to other playgrounds closest to our neighbourhood. Building the school playground will alleivate the need for residents to go elsewhere and enjoy more time with their family outdoors with many different options of play for different age groups in the community.

How will the $5K be used?

$ 5,000 towards playground equipment
