Goals
- Provide families with low cost fitness, nutrition and social programs
Overview
With the 12 North building, our goal is to improve the physical and mental health of rural families in our community through the co-ordination and establishment of an affordable multi-use facility focusing on physical fitness, nutrition and social programming. Through our effort we would like to create a space where we can get families moving by providing the space for and co-ordination of recreational activities which would be available to rural families for free or a minimal fee. Programs/Services we would like to provide include:
-daytime play activities for children 0-6
-daytime training and skill upgrading worshops
-programming around nutrition and cooking for all ages from children 0-6 to seniors
-life skills training and volunteer opportunities for youth
-fitness facility
-community events
-after school programming for children 6-13 and youth 13-17
-affordable physical activities for children 6-13 and youth ages 13-17 (such as dance, martial arts)
