Educational Enhancement - parents who have children with special needsSackville Bedford Early Intervention Program

Educational Enhancement would assist our parents inlearning more about their child's diagnosis or needs. This would include the purchase of resource books as well as providing evening parent groups with guest speakers from within the community in areas but not limited to Downs Syndrome, Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, Disability Tax Credit Information, Kindermusik, or physical/recreation for children with special needs. This opportunity would allow us to equip families with the information on their child's developmental needs as well as inclusion of thier children into community programs.

In addition, we would also like to be able to continue a Sibling Group which presently have 13-15 children from 5-12 years of age who have a brother or sister who has a developmental delay. The focus of the group is to have fun with a group that does not judge them and understands how it feels to have a sibling who has a developmental disability.
