Overview

In preparation of the upcoming commemoration of the Bi-Centennial of the War of 1812-14, The CAA Winter Festival of Lights would like to develope a 3 part illumination display to include in our 5km route of Canada's foremost illumination festival.

1) Increase attendance at the CAA Winter Festival of Lights;

2) Improve its current evening illumination displays

3) Create significant media exposure opportunities for winter time Niagara Falls;

4) Increase tourism visitation and tourist expenditures in Niagara Falls;

 

Community Benefit

1) Attract visitors to Niagara Falls during the local tourism industry's off-season; 2) Enhance the economic impact of off-season tourism on the community; 3) Promote activities that will enhance the participation of residents and pride in their community; and 4) Offer opportunities for a healthy, active lifestyle to local residents through participation and volunteering. The mission statement of the Winter Festival of Lights is to produce the foremost illumination festival in North America while organizing events that will attract visitors to Niagara Falls and enhance community participation.

How will the $100K be used?

Budget Notes: The CAA Winter Festival of Lights will cover 1) HST on displays 2) Additional costs incurred to complete the display 3) Staffing to have developed, meet codes and approvals 4) Media & Marketing exposure
