Goals

  • To educate students about the importance of water protection.

Overview

CWEC would like to extend our current program of water festival and grade 8 science programs to include a weekend camp educational experience for students in grades 10-12.  We know that students learn better in an environment that is hands on and engaging.  Our camp will not only provide these learning activities but will also challenge the students to live in an outdoor supervised conservation environment for 2 nights.

Students will be given the opportunity to take and test water samples and disect and build a water pump as well as learn about post secondary education and careers in water conservation, preservation and protection.

The project will be developed by volunteer members of CWEC which include professional hydrologists and water conservation specialists.  Students will gain valuable experience in an outdoor setting while learning exceptional conservation and protection techniques that they can bring back to their families and friends.

How will the $10K be used?

Budget Notes: All camp supplies like tents, sleeping bags, camp equipment and shelter materials will be collected post camp and stored and re-used for camps for years to come.
