Overview
Our oldest (1992) Handi-van, Unit 4, has essentially driven its last kilometer.
With one bus out of commission, WCTS’ service to the community has been reduced/compromised. Where clients have been most affected is out-of-town medical appointments in Edmonton or Red Deer. Since an out-of-town trip can take a bus out of the community for the whole day, the WCTS has no choice but to concentrate on the in-town bookings to benefit the greatest number of clients.
Without a third bus, our clients and the community will continue to suffer from the reduced service/accessibility. As such, the WCTS would like to apply to the Pepsi Refresh Project for funding to purchase a new Handi-van so that our clients can once again receive the high level of service that they have come to know from the Wetaskiwin Community Transportation Society.
