Overview

We want to get solar energy in the hands of Canadian electricity users. Everyone should have the opportunity to choose renewable energy, not just folks who can afford solar panels. Let’s help bring Canada back to its environmental senses.

We’ll do this by creating a new distributed solar power generating company. Southern Ontario has the right combination of sunlight, power demands, and regulations to serve as a great 1.0 location, but we want to eventually expand Vicaya Energy to other provinces too.

Vicaya Energy will establish partnerships with other Canadian companies, and combine a novel community-focused business model with innovations in solar electric hardware, top-of-the-line software, and strategies unique to our Canadian climate.

We’ll use this grant as seed funding: to get to work bringing on board people we need, and to seek out the additional grants and funding needed to get the solar utility off the ground.
