Overview

A particular "place for science" in our school... A program of diverse science, biotechnology and health activities!!! Exhibits, visits, and workshop are scheduled, as well as a thematic week.

We would like to improve our programming by taking high school students grades 8 and 9 to a 2-day field trip based on a series a special visits. These visits would allow them to learn about different aspects of science.

The site is located in Montréal

- A day at the Cosmodôme and trial of a simulator; the Montréal Museum of Science; the Planetarium; and finally,  a game of Laser Quest to "relax".

Why secondary 2 and 3? hey will soon have to make class choices that will influence the rest of their lives!

Community Benefit

At the heart of our preoccupations : perseverance in school and development in science. These are two preoccupying issues in our region, as the jobs directly or indirectly related to science and technology are increasing and will continue to do so. To fill these positions, we owe it to ourselves to encourage our youth to study in these fields that they perceive as being less attractive. Valuing the technological and scientific culture in school is extremely important. The planned trip is aimed at initiating our students on the different aspects of science and technology and at inspiring their interest. The advantage for the community is obvious: orient our young people towards promising careers in our region!

How will the $10K be used?

Budget Notes: The remaining cost will be covered by the parents
$ 10,000 Pay part of the student field trip
