Overview
The project will be to build a small observatory that is operational year round.
Our mission will be to promote astronomy and science to students and residents of the Lanaudière region. Our project will focus on getting young people interested in science in order to counter the high drop-out rates in our region. Already, we help over 1,000 students discover astronomy each year.
We will also raise awareness about light pollution, explaining how to be more economical and effective with our lighting and, at the same time, protect our starlit sky.
How will the $100K be used? |

Budget Notes: We need to find a location for the observatory that is suitable and accessible by road. The observatory must have enough room to accommodate approximately 30 people overnight and must have heating, electricity and running water. Snow removal may also be required in winter. | |
