Soccer is the fastest growing sport in Canada. More than 800,000 players are registered, with more than 28,000 in Hamilton alone.

Making sure that all who wish to participate in soccer have the opportunity is a key objective of Ancaster Soccer Club. However there is insufficient space to meet all of the summer demand, and very little indoor space for the winter programming. As a result, ASC and other clubs in Hamilton, have struggled to provide programs, especially in the winter.

Recognizing that soccer benefits both youth and the community as a whole, ASC has undertaken to build a soccer complex that will provide additional outdoor space in the summer months and provide indoor space for games, training and tournaments in the winter months. This international sized, domed field and field house will be only the third of its type in the province of Ontario and will serve all of Hamilton and south west Ontario.

Community Benefit

The most important beneficiary of the domed field will be the youth of our community. Hamilton is a great city for individuals and families. Access to quality sports and recreation programming is part of creating a positive environment where we live, work and play. Recreation leads to a lifetime of better health, self esteem, and leadership and teamwork skills. Our children and our community benefit. Improving sports infrastructure is part of the equation. The new domed field will be a world class soccer facility to our own backyard and provide quality year round access to soccer for our children and for generations to come.

How will the $100K be used?

$ 100,000 As part of the $4.8 m campaign to build the domed field
